What's included
Your 170ml candle in frosted glass, scented with a blend built by you from more than 30 essential oils. All materials, refreshments on arrival, and a Yougi tutor with you for the whole session.
Locations & access
We have two workshop spaces. 31 Connaught Street, London W2 (Marble Arch tube) — our flagship, also a shop open six days a week. 53 Fashion Street, Whitechapel, London E1 (Whitechapel or Aldgate East tube) — workshops only. Each date in the picker shows its location. Full directions go out with the booking confirmation.
Who teaches the workshop
Every workshop is designed by Emily. Most are taught by the Yougi team, all of whom trained at the studio. Emily still teaches a handful of sessions each month; when she's hosting a specific date, we'll flag it in the booking.
Cancellation & rescheduling
Workshop bookings are non-refundable. If you cannot attend, we will do our best to move you to another date: email info@yougilondon.com at least seven days before your slot. If you are ill or something comes up at the last minute, email us anyway and we will talk through your options.

An hour and a half, start to finish.
Tea on arrival, an apron, a seat at the table. Then a short lesson in the fragrance families: top, heart and base.
Work through the oil library, more than 30 essential oils, and decide what your candle is for.
Build your own formula with your tutor beside you, then pour it into the 170g frosted glass candle.
One candle, one formula, yours alone. It sets before the class ends and goes home with you.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change the date of my workshop?
Please request any date changes at least 7 days ahead of your booked workshop. If you are ill or cannot attend at the last minute, email info@yougilondon.com and we will let you know your options.
Can I get a refund on my workshop ticket?
As per our T&Cs, workshop bookings are strictly non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend, we will do our best to accommodate changes to your booking with at least 7 days notice, by email at info@yougilondon.com before your booked slot.
What if I turn up late to a class?
Though we ask you to arrive on time, we are happy to accommodate latecomers up to 10 minutes past the class start time.
How many people will be attending my workshop?
Our Connaught Street studio holds up to 12 guests. Our Fashion Street studio holds up to 20.
How long will the workshop last?
Most workshops run between one hour and two and a half hours. The exact length is on each workshop page.
Can I bring a plus one if they haven't booked?
Our workshop space only has the capacity to hold booked guests.
Are the classes suitable for young children?
Our workshops are not designed for children, but we are happy to welcome children aged 12 and over who are accompanied by an adult also booked into the class.
Can I take my candle home with me on the day?
Yes. Everyone takes their candle home on the day, though it will need to set for around 25 minutes while we talk about aromatherapy.
I want to host a private session with my friends, family or team. How do I do this?
We would love to meet you all. Email us at info@yougilondon.com and we will arrange a private class with you.
My friend who I booked with is ill and I don't want to join without them. What do I do?
Sorry to hear your friend is ill. We still advise you to come if you are well, but please email info@yougilondon.com with as much notice as possible and we will talk through your options.

We did a candle making workshop here yesterday as part of a hen. Organising was straightforward with quick email responses. The experience itself was a delight. Really fun and informative. Peter, our host, has such beautiful energy and brought such calm, insight and humour to our session. Our candles smell gorgeous and we all felt we’d learned a lot in a short time. A wonderful class with a very engaging and informative tutor. With just 10 in the class it felt that there was enough time for anyone to ask questions if needed. There was a lot of explanation around scents and combining them to the best effect. We all left with our own hand poured candle, after a really enjoyable couple of hours.

Took my girlfriend here for a birthday present and honestly it was amazing. I found that the instructor was very warm and inviting throughout the session. She made a huge effort to ensure everyone felt comfortable enough to express their ideas and also kept the entire class engaged throughout the session by consistently sparking conversations with everyone. It made the experience feel more worthwhile as it felt like the priority was to give us a memorable experience and not just get it over with. I also really enjoyed how educational the session was. You don’t come out of the session just learning how to make scents and candles, you also gain a nuanced insight into how they’re made in the general candle industry and the harms that are associated with certain practices. Overall, a great experience and would recommend 10 times over!!!
