The blend

Bliss is lemon verbena and pine, the smell of a path through the trees after rain. Lemon verbena, Aloysia citrodora, with cypress and pine: sharp, green, resinous. Blended to lift the mood and keep the feet on the ground. Soy wax. Cotton wick. Hand-poured. Around 40 hours for the 170g, 20 for the 90g, 60 for the 270g and 80 for the three-wick.

The head lifts.

The craft

Poured at Connaught Street. One batch at a time.

Every candle is hand-poured in small batches at our London workshop. Emily blends every scent and makes each batch by hand. The candles are then poured, labelled and finished by hand.

The ritual

How to burn Bliss Candle.

A candle is only as good as the way it's burned. Four steps, the same for every Yougi vessel.

  1. Trim the wick.

Before every burn, trim to a centimetre. A shorter wick prevents soot and smoke, and the flame runs clean.

  2. Let the wax pool.

On the first burn, let the wax reach the edge of the vessel before you put it out. Two to four hours. This prevents tunnelling and protects your hours of burn.

  3. Burn in sessions.

Two to four hours at a time. Let it rest between burns: the scent needs the pause.

  4. Retire gracefully.

When the wax falls below a centimetre, stop burning. Send us the empty vessel and we'll refill it for thirty percent less than a new candle.
