The Kit · Gifting for teams
Specifications
The one-candle Candle-Making Kit, by the pack. Everything to pour a candle at the kitchen table: 150g of eco soy wax, a 15ml bottle of one of the six Yougi blends, a frosted white glass, a copper lid and a cotton wick, with the method written out and a video of the workshop. Each one sets to a 165g candle.
A gift that becomes an evening rather than an object on a shelf. It is also the natural partner to the candle making workshop: the people in the room make theirs, and everyone who could not be there gets the kit.
Sold in packs of five at £32 a kit (£39 in the shop). Order as many packs as you need. One scent for the order, or a mix noted at checkout. Packed on Connaught Street. Delivered to one London address within the price; home addresses priced per parcel. For Christmas delivery, order by Friday 28 November.
Poured at Connaught Street. One batch at a time.
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches at our London workshop. Emily blends every scent and makes each batch by hand. The candles are then poured, labelled and finished by hand.
How to burn The Kit · Gifting for teams.
A candle is only as good as the way it's burned. Four steps, the same for every Yougi vessel.
-
Trim the wick.
Before every burn, trim to a centimetre. A shorter wick prevents soot and smoke, and the flame runs clean.
-
Let the wax pool.
On the first burn, let the wax reach the edge of the vessel before you put it out. Two to four hours. This prevents tunnelling and protects your hours of burn.
-
Burn in sessions.
Two to four hours at a time. Let it rest between burns: the scent needs the pause.
-
Retire gracefully.
When the wax falls below a centimetre, stop burning. Send us the empty vessel and we'll refill it for thirty percent less than a new candle.
The blend, in its other forms.
The same scent where it is made, and the nearest to it where it is not.
