Manifest Candle
Specifications
Manifest is resin and smoke and the quiet of a room kept for stillness: the candle for the slow ceremonial hour. Indian frankincense, Boswellia serrata, with sandalwood, sage and patchouli. Emily made it in winter, from a memory of an ashram in South Goa, where she learned and deepened her yoga practice: the bare floor, the one open window, the smoke holding still in the morning light. Soy wax. Cotton wick. Hand-poured. Around 50 hours.
The week sets itself down.
Four essential oils. Every one named.
Single-origin, sourced from the grower who knows them best. No carriers, no extenders, no synthetic fragrance.
ResinousFrankincense
Resin and cool smoke. The quiet of a still room.
WoodySandalwood
Soft, creamy and quietly woody. A base that holds everything above it.
HerbalSage
Fresh and herbal, with a slight peppery edge.
WoodyPatchouli
Damp earth and dark leaves, sweetening as it warms.
Poured at Connaught Street. One batch at a time.
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches at our London workshop. Emily blends every scent and makes each batch by hand. The candles are then poured, labelled and finished by hand.
How to burn Manifest Candle.
A candle is only as good as the way it's burned. Four steps, the same for every Yougi vessel.
-
Trim the wick.
Before every burn, trim to a centimetre. A shorter wick prevents soot and smoke, and the flame runs clean.
-
Let the wax pool.
On the first burn, let the wax reach the edge of the vessel before you put it out. Two to four hours. This prevents tunnelling and protects your hours of burn.
-
Burn in sessions.
Two to four hours at a time. Let it rest between burns: the scent needs the pause.
-
Retire gracefully.
When the wax falls below a centimetre, stop burning. Send us the empty vessel and we'll refill it for thirty percent less than a new candle.
The blend, in its other forms.
The same scent where it is made, and the nearest to it where it is not.
